Chilkat Wool Shawl in Red and Black by Artist Corrine Hunt. From The Drifted Ashore house this Chilkat design represents the work of Mary Ebbetts Hunt (A’neesla’ga,’), Corrine's paternal grandmother, a renown Chilkat weaver whose robes woven 150 years ago are still worn today. The shawl is a 100% wool and measures 76 x 180 cm (approximately 30 inches wide by 70 inches long).

Corrine Hunt is a member of the Raven Gwa’wina clan from Ts’akis, a Komoyue village on Vancouver Island. Born in Alert Bay in 1959, Corrine’s paternal grandmother A’neesla’ga,’ a Tlingit noblewoman from Alaska, gave her the name ‘Killer Whale Scratching Her Back on the Beach’ in 1965. Since 1985 she has been creating contemporary art that reflects the themes and traditions of her First Nations Komoyue and Tlingit heritage.

Comes in a package suitable for gifting. Care: Dry clean only. Available in other colorways.
