Pot Holder with Salmon Motif Designed by Coast Salish Artist Jim Charlie. The pot holder measures 8 1/2 inches square and is 100% cotton. Taupe, khaki, black and white.
On the Northwest Pacific coast, the salmon stands for persistence and instinct, and the abundance it brings to the First Nations peoples and the ecology of the region. Because of the central role the salmon plays in the natural cycle, each year the indigenous communities of the the Northwest Coast celebrate the struggles and determination of the salmon to return to the rivers in which they were spawned.
Designed and made in Canada.
